Nui Supanise

My Yoga Biography
Born in Chiangmai, Thailand. Nui graduated from Chiangmai University with Bachelor Degree in Japanese language and another one year from Hokkaido University of Education. She had worked in a Japanese company as an interpreter for about 20 years.

When she was 10, she had no idea the postures taught by her teacher in physical education class are some postures of yoga until she started practicing it with her intention 12 years ago. At the beginning she had been practicing only hot yoga but months later after she tried vinyasa style, it seemed like a new door opened. Yoga has been sparking more joy as she began to seriously immerse herself in the practice of Ashtanga (vinyasa) yoga.

It was not easy to meet an Ashtanga yoga teacher in Thailand at that time so mainly she did self-practice at home without a certain teacher until 2008 when Matthew Sweeney came for his first time workshop in Thailand. And later on she always made the opportunity to practice with him every time he had a workshop in Bangkok.

Because her practice is based on self practice to not only develop her physical body but also make her mind calm and peaceful as well. This transformation became an inspiration for her to turn to be a yoga teacher.

She completed her first yoga teacher training course in Hatha Vinyasa yoga with FIT (Fitness Innovations Thailand) in 2012.

In 2013 to develop her self-practice, she had the opportunity to attend a one-month intensive course in 2013 with Matthew Sweeney.

In 2014, she completed another 35Hrs Ashtanga yoga intensive teacher training certificate with Ken Harakuma and obtained another 200Hrs yoga teacher training with Joy and Ricardo under the It’s Yoga system.

Practicing with Sharath Jois in Mysore, India in 2015.

In 2018, she attended 300Hrs Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher training & mindfulness practice under Bright Yoga School system and already completed in 2019.

Her teaching officially started since 2012 in a yoga studio in Rayong after she quit her job with a Japanese company. A year later she moved back to her home town, Chiangmai, and started to follow her dream to teach Ashtanga. She owns Ashtanga studio, Ashtanga Chiangmai, where Nui offers both Mysore class and Led class.

Meanwhile, she has been working as an assistant teacher in 200Hrs yoga teacher training (Thai language course) with Joy and Ricardo since 2014.

Nui has been practicing Vipassana meditation during the last 4 years. This way of meditation brings more mindfulness into her yoga practice, teaching and daily life. It gave her the real answer what a life is and brightens every single step in her life.

We have been refining our teaching method, to have a method now allowing a student with a very limited experience to be and feel ready to teach after 22 days of intensive training (200HR).

Our courses are suitable for beginners and advance students alike.
